What Is Radiesse®?

A structural filler that also works as a collagen biostimulator.

Radiesse® contains smooth calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres suspended in a gel carrier. After injection, the gel provides immediate volume and support. As the carrier is gradually absorbed, the CaHA particles act as a scaffold that encourages the body to produce new collagen and elastin.

Radiesse® and Radiesse® (+) are available for selected treatment areas. Radiesse® (+) includes lidocaine for additional comfort during injection. The appropriate formulation depends on the area being treated and your provider’s clinical assessment.

Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, Radiesse® cannot be dissolved with hyaluronidase. Careful patient selection, precise placement, and treatment by a trained medical provider are therefore especially important.

What to Expect After Radiesse®

Most patients return to normal activities shortly after treatment.

Temporary redness, swelling, tenderness, itching, firmness, or bruising may occur around the injection sites. These effects usually improve over several days. Hand injections may temporarily make certain activities uncomfortable, and small nodules can occur.

Can Radiesse® Be Combined With Other Injectables?

A personalized plan may address both structural volume loss and expression-related wrinkles.

Radiesse® may be combined with Botox® injections when appropriate. Radiesse® supports volume and contour, while Botox® addresses dynamic wrinkles caused by repeated muscle movement.
